Hello there. I sincerely hope you all haven’t melted away this summer with these temperatures and humidity indexes! Or that your air conditioning is working at top speed. How many of you grew up without AC? I did and now I wonder how we survived with just window box fans?
What an amazing birthday celebration we all enjoyed at Marmalade Café. The food and service were wonderful, and we had the place to ourselves. There were goodie bags and an amazing parade of our ‘first quilts’ for those of us who still had them as well some lovely photos of those given away. Thanks to our amazing VP, Kristeen Dolan for doing all the planning and checking and follow ups. Also, to you all for your generous contributions to Martha’s Mission.
The next day we had a Guild Instructor Workshop with the Theme, “Christmas in July”. Many thanks to all of Santa’s creative Elves, Chris Pochwat, head Elf, Cathy Crandall, Mary Frankle, Ginger Hoell and Mary Henris. There were some great ideas for gifts as well as cool stuff to make for ourselves. They were very well prepared, and we had kits to practice at home!
Looking forward to August, we will be having a workshop to help stitch up some blocks for Breast Cancer Awareness quilts and Hospice. It is scheduled on August 22nd at Western Carteret Library.
As we turn the calendar page on this last month of summer, I hope you can squeeze in all the beach days and family time possible. And maybe even a little sewing!
