Suddenly it’s April and all around us spring has sprung! Easter is early this year; the chartreuse rain has been in full force along with allergies. Ahhh yes, the sweet smell of spring!
We have another busy month ahead of us with guest speaker Heather Kojan for our April meeting and then her workshops the next day. Her presentation and workshop theme are the perfect motivation to continue that spring cleaning of our sewing spaces. There is still time to sign up!
For those of us who were able to attend the Guild sponsored retreat, what a ball we had! We were in a new location for us, The Crystal Coast Ocean Front Hotel in Pine Knoll Shores. Our meeting room was spacious, and lighting was good, and the company was the usual fun. But many of us managed to finish some projects, start AND finish new projects; offering each other consultation when ‘requested ’out. Snacks and food were the usual superb quality. And our rooms overlooked the ocean! Looking forward to next year’s retreat already! BIG Thanks to Paula J. and Mary F. for taking lead and Mary’s amazing ‘goodie’ bags, the wonderful, created bowls by Chris P., Linda I. and Ginger H. Humm, guess I don’t really need to finish up the one I started after instruction from Tricks, Tips and Techniques now, do I?
This year’s Day of Sharing was all one could expect and MORE! A big shout out to Cindy M. and her dedicated Committee of Nancy S., Vicky G., Cathy C., Barbra A., Mary H., Theresa T., Debbie G., Jeanne B., Susan H. and Beth H. Even though I am writing this prior to attending due to press requirements, I know just how wonderful it will be. Sharing isn’t always about the quilts we see that day but the giving of ourselves to make this event memorable, it’s about being inspired by others’ works, coming together and greeting old friends. While welcoming new quilters to our home. That is what is the best part for me! You all!
