Kids Charity Quilt Workshop. January 16, 2021.

Come and join us for a morning of assembling the kits prepared by Holly and Bonnie to piece them for donation quilts. You may pick up a kit the Saturday before on January 9th, 2021 at the Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church, Atlantic Beach, NC. Then all you need do is join in for a fun morning of sewing and chatting.

Join us every other first Tuesday of the month for a speaker via Zoom on various topics that we hope will motivate you as well inspire your creativity.
REGISTRATION Fee: $10.00 each OR $25.00 for all THREE.
February 2, 2021 Lilo Bowman “Love Where you Create: It’s Not a One Size Fits All” - Join us as Lilo Bowman, maker and author of Love Your Creative Space, walks us through our creative spaces and shows us how to organize it for our individual needs. Learn to build a creative place that works for you, your space, your budget and where you are right now. 10:00 AM-NOON. Cost: $10. Registration required.
April 6, 2021 Michelle Banton, “ If MacGyver was a Quilter” - Join us as quilter, teacher and tour planner, Michelle Banton of Little Pup Designs walks us room by room through our home and shows us over 75 common household items that can be used in quilting and our quilt studios. This should be a fun way to spend the morning. 10:00 AM-NOON. Cost: $10. Registration required.
June 1, 2021 Kim Lapacek, “Careening Wildly into Quilting - What I Learned by Not Knowing What I Didn't Know"
Join us as artist and dreamer, Kim Lapacek, Persimon Dreams, takes us on a journey through her quilts, how challenges have shaped the quilter she has become and her addiction to quilt alongs and block-of-the-month programs. You will see traditional quilts created quite untraditionally, sampler quilts with a twist, and a wide variety of art quilts. 10:00 AM-NOON. Cost: $10. Registration required.

Bead It Like You Mean It: The Basics of Beading on Fabric Lyric Montgomery Kinard. March 20, 2021. Online Workshop. Registration $30.

Make straight or curved solid lines, split or join them, or simply add one bead at a time. Cage a beautiful cabochon, or get silly with stacks, the perfect finish for your favorite funky flowers. Learn about the best materials to use, seed beads, bugle beads, stacks, beaded bezels, chunky beads, and beading from the top of a finished quilt with no knots or mess on the back. Pull out your fun scraps and turn them into a unique Dresden Neighborhood! We'll put a whimsical 'twist' on the traditional Dresden Plate, cutting, piecing, applique and stitching to make an adorable wall hanging! Neighborhoods can be personalized with landmarks, holiday themes, or colorways. Once you learn Kim's techniques, you'll never look at a traditional block the same way. Pattern included. 9:00 AM-NOON. Cost: $35 for CCQG members; $45 for non-members Registration required.

Free Motion Quilting with Beth Heal. November 2021.
Beth Heal is a teacher, pattern designer, an award winning quilter and the current President of the Coastal Carolina Modern Quilt Guild. Learn how to use your home sewing machine to create several basic free motion quilt designs. You must have machine with a free motion quilting foot and the ability to drop your feed dogs. An extension table for your machine is recommended. Registration is $35. This workshop will be rescheduled once group meetings can be held at Fort Benjamin.
