Hero Quilt Project
The guild makes and donates quilts to men and women veterans across the Nation in appreciation for their service and sacrifice; in addition to donating quilts the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Quilt Awarded on US Navy BirthdayOn October 13, 2017, the 242nd birthday of the US Navy, Swansboro Veterans of Foreign Wars, W. E. Baggs, Sr., Post 9960 took the opportunity to honor one of its own.
With the assistance of Darlene Tracy, Hero Quilt Chairperson for the Crystal Coast Quilters Guild, C.T. May, 92, of Cedar Point was presented with a Hero Quilt. May served in the Navy during World War II. |
Hero Quilt AwardedOn October 15, 2017, Steve Tracy, wife of Hero Quilt Chairperson, Darlene Tracy, presented Fran Mitchell with a Hero Quilt made by the Crystal Coast Quilters Guild. Fran, age 93, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1944. The quilt was awarded to Fran at the Marine Corp League Bangor Maine Detachment.
