Annie Smith Trunk Show and Lecture "Understanding Color" has been CANCELLED.
Annie Smith will take the audience through a journey of color and fabric, discussing what the key to your fabric choices really is. No matter what your skill level, learn how to unlock the personality of your quilts through choosing fabric with and new eye on color. The keys to fabric selection will be thoroughly discussed as well as how to make the color design rules that work for you.
Annie Smith "Building Your Color Sense" Workshop on June 26, 2020
This workshop combines a hands-on program about quilts and color standards, a demonstration where students play with fabric and build up paste-ups from their stash. Lean to apply design rules to choose fabrics for quilts, enhancing your own color and fabric intuition. Students then compose an eye-opening quilt, The 10:10 Quilt, using a single block design and 10 fat-quarters! The blocked used for this exercise is a magical block that changes design based on where you place your fabrics. Each block is totally unique and can't be repeated! As a part of the quilt making experience, you also team precision piecing, using one little essential notion. Workshop will be held at the First Baptist Church in Morehead City from 9am - 2pm. Cost is $10 + $16 for pattern, payable to Annie Smith on day of workshop.
"Crystal Coast Tea Party" Day of Sharing with Annie Smith on June 27, 2020
Annie Smith will share her humorous experiences as a quilt judge or being "The Quilt Police". The event will be held at the First Baptist Church, Bridges St., Morehead City, NC. Doors open at 9 am. Cost is $10 and includes plated lunch, guest speaker, door prizes and raffle quilts.
"All Things Jelly" for Jelly Roll Day Sewcial on May 16, 2020
Come join us for a day of fun and games where all things are jelly: jelly donuts, jelly beans, jelly tarts, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, jelly rolls and "strip" poker. We will provide patterns that use jelly roll strips (2.5" strips) or bring your own. Come sew, meet new friends and have fun. Workshop meets at For Benjamin Parks and Rec Center from 9am - 2pm. Cost is $10. Registration cutoff date is May 12, 2020.
Quilt Trek Shop Hop on July 14, 2020
Come join us for a day of visiting our local quilt shops and picking up the free patterns for Quilt Trek (formerly known as Row by Row Experience). The patterns you pick up will be used at the next workshop. We plan on leaving Shepherd of the Sea Lutheran Church at 10 am. Cost is the price of lunch for your driver.

Come join us for a day of sewing the patterns you picked up during the Quilt Trek Shop Hop or patterns (and UFOs) from past years of Row by Row Experience. If you were unable to participate in Quilt Trex, patterns will be available. Workshop meets at Shepherd of the Sea Luthern Church from 9 am - 2 pm. Cost is $10. Registration cutoff date is July 7, 2020.
"Schoolhouse Rocks" Workshop on September 19, 2020
Come join us for a day of learning piecing in the hoop, English paper piecing, beading, Quilt-As-You-Go teachers from our Guild: Kelly Arnett, Mary Frankle, Bonnie Sturdevant and Mary Henris. Projects will be provided by the teachers and will expand on the demonstrations that were done at the August Guild meeting. Workshop meets at Fort Benjamin Parks and Rec Center from 9 am - 2pm. Cost is $15. Registrations cutoff date is September 15, 2020.
In-Town Retreat on October 2-3, 2020
Come join us for 2 days of uninterrupted sewing on those UFOs or Christmas projects. Retreat meets at Fort Benjamin Parks & Rec Center from 8am - 8pm on Friday and 9am - 2pm on Saturday. Cost is $35 and includes lunch and dinner on Friday. Registration cutoff is September 19, 2020.
Free Motion Quilting with Beth Heal on November 7, 2020
Beth Heal is a teacher, pattern designer, an award winning quilter and the current President of the Coastal Carolina Modern Quilt Guild. Learn how to use your home sewing machine to create several basic free motion quilt designs. You must have machine with a free motion quilting foot and the ability to drop your feed dogs. An extension table for your machine is recommended. Workshop meets at Fort Benjamin Parks & Rec Center from 9am-2pm. Cost is $35. Registration cutoff date is October 17, 2020.
