Special Exhibits
This year, the Crystal Coast Quilters’ Guild is
pleased to present two Special Exhibits. E Pluribus Unum II:
Cultures in Cloth, is a remarkable collection of 37 art
quilts that reflect the many cultures which comprise our nation,
articulating our motto:
E Pluribus Unum
(Out of Many, One). In conjunction with this exhibit, CCQG
members will display their own Cultures in Cloth art quilts that
resulted from a workshop given by exhibit curator, Ann Flaherty,
where we explored and expressed our own cultural histories.
Black & White Transformed, an exhibit of art quilts created by Artrageous, a group of art quilters in Eastern North Carolina, illustrating members’ efforts to transform black and white fabrics to a variety of colors by using different surface design techniques, will also be on display.
Guild Challenge Quilts
The theme for this year’s Challenge Quilts is, “Fresh Picked
in North Carolina.” Guild members were challenged to
portray a North Carolina fresh-picked fruit, vegetable or flower
on a 12” square.
Demonstrations
Several different demonstrations will be offered during Show
hours. Topics and times will be posted at the Show.
